Chip's Old Fashioned Hamburgers

One would think that a chili dog can not be messed up. Chips proved wrong. Tasted burnt. Not delicious. I love chili dogs so much they are a treat. Not true here. I also asked for ketchup which I did not get. I should never tip for togo orders. It is never worth it.

Burnt

I am not sure it ownership has changed or what but I grew up going to Chips in Dallas and it was great.  Now not so much.  The last three visits were not a good experiences at all.  I do not live in the Dallas area anymore so I really look forward to my visits to Chips.  The last visit, on 9-18-22, the burger was tasteless!   No seasoning what so ever and my fries were cold.  I wanted onion rings but they said that they were sold out.  Really?  On a weekend when most do a good portion of your business in fast food you are sold out?  I think they simply did not want to make any more to be honest.  The guy behind the counter was very short.  Almost rude, but not exactly.    To make matters worst, they started sweeping the area around our table while we were eating in preparation for closing I assume, even though they were allowing other customers in to the establishment.  I have worked in the food business before and you simply do not start sweeping floors while people are eating unless you are getting up a broken plate or glass.   As stated, I really use to enjoy this place but I do not believe that I will come back.  There are some good burger places in Dallas that still take pride in their product and do not serve you cold fries as the sweep up around your table.  The only reason I did not give one a terrible rating because the shake was very good.  The only redeeming factor.

Once was great

I&apos;ve been going to Chip&apos;s off and on for years now.  They make some of the best burgers around.  You can customize to your heart&apos;s content.  Fries and sweet potato fries are excellent.  Service is efficient and friendly.  My wife had the chicken tenders salad on our last visit- chicken was good but the salad was a bit bland overall in her opinion.  Mostly iceberg lettuce, apparently.  But if you&apos;re in the market for a burger, you can&apos;t go wrong here.
